Go karting is a form of motor sport, and is considered a base for Formula 1 racing. The interest of this sport is increasing all over the world. There are clubs all over the world providing facilities for go karting, including AlAin Sportplex, which has the largest karting track in the Middle East, with a total distance of 1,800 meters.
In October 2006, AlAin Sportplex hosted the qualifying round for the 2006 ROTAX MAX Challenge, which was held in Portugal, and the club has achieved the honour of hosting the Go Karting World Championship in November 2007, which is considered as the most important event in the karting world. This further shows the professionalism with which are tracks are constructed.
